Monkey Shakespeare Simulator
"If you have enough monkeys banging randomly on typewriters, they will eventually type the works of William Shakespeare."
We've all heard the old saw, but someone decided to see if it were really true.
This website's been up since July 1, 2003, and so far the best the monkey-equivalent's been able to do is the first 22 letters of "Cymbeline."
But be patient: we've got all the time - literally - in the world.

This couldn't have come at a better time. I'm currently putting together my resume to feature my design, flash and application development skills and this will certainly make my task much easier.
I only wish I had time to pursue my Master's degree - maybe if I started the monkeys on it now.

Here is my favorite play on that theme:
Dilbert writes a poem and presents it to Dogbert:
DOGBERT: I once read that given infinite time, a thousand monkeys with typewriters would eventually write the complete works of Shakespeare.
DILBERT: But what about my poem?
DOGBERT: Three monkeys, ten minutes
