Yaktrax Ice Walkers
You put these babies over your shoes or boots and walk with confidence where previously you dared not go.
Flexible, since they're basically tricked-out rubber bands.
They go on and off in a flash, and you stuff 'em in your purse or pocket when you're not using them.
In small, medium and large, to fit anything from a woman's size 6 to a man's size 14.
$19.95 here.
If you want the Lexus version, the Yaktrax Pro (below),
for $27.95, adds a Velcro "performance strip for additional stability and security in the toughest of conditions."

Joe - Just last night I purchased a set of these: http://cozywinters.com/shopping/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=cw&Product_Code=32N-ST
I looked at the YakTrax, but wanted something more. I had a pair of something similar last year, but they broke after a very short use. The Stabilicers look like the Mack Truck version. I hope they last longer.
I hate ice. I love snow. It seems that we get more ice around here than snow anymore. Hence my need for stability.
