The art of Natalia Porter
Originally from Mexico, she's lived in New York since she attended Pratt Institute, where she received her Masters in Industrial Design.
She works in Manhattan, bringing a fine art sensibility to the world of practical industrial design.
From rubber bands and pencils she creates uncannily compelling objects.
Her long-haired hairbrush,
made from real human hair, is useless but strangely compelling and, to this man, disturbing.
I like being disturbed.
It's good to be disturbed.
Good thing I'm happy with that, since many have said it's clearly my problem.
That's been going on so long it looks like up to me.
Wait a minute... that's not how it goes... is it?
