bookofjoe offers bits and pieces from musings of days and weeks past — and future

If, as I believe, the future and the past coexist, then it's presumptuous to act as if reflections bear only on events experienced.

A few observations, if you have a moment.

I do.

It occurred to me last evening (not for the first time, I might add) that it is rather cumbersome to carry on a debate with another commenter via the Comments section of bookofjoe.

If both parties furnish their email addresses (linked to their names) in the course of making their comments, then wouldn't it be more rewarding to correspond directly with the other party?

It's OK to do it via the Comments section; it just seems like a lot more effort with less reward.

And you know how I am about that: I want the most for the least.

On another topic, a reader emailed me that I came up second among zillions on Google when he put "lemon-lime squeezer" into the Google search box.

Huh, I thought.

That means that a lot of people looking for information on lemon-lime squeezers must come across bookofjoe the same way.

So if I were using Google's AdSense program, a lot of people might click on the ad for the company that makes the squeezer that I featured, if it appeared among the Google ads.

And that would start the cash register here at bookofjoe ringing, if only intermittently.

As it stands, it's gathering dust.

So we'll look into this.

As you read these words, my technical engineer (yo, PW, wake up and smell the Kona!) is investigating such matters.

Let's see, what else?

Oh, yes, I would be remiss in not thanking once again all the readers who continue to send me wonderful material that they remark "would've been perfect for Version 1.0."

Spot on, ladies and gents.

But that was then, and we're now.

That's enough, I guess.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled postings and suchlike.

Thank you for taking a moment to reflect with me.
