Yahoo Video Search Goes Live

Cc_2

This past Thursday, May 5, Yahoo formally released its video search engine.

Available in beta since last December, "the online tool is designed to uncover and present video clips from many different sources when users search on a particular subject, much as text search engines currently operate," wrote Richard Waters in the May 5 Financial Times.

So Yahoo's beaten Google to the punch.

Does this herald a shifting balance of power between the two monsters of the internet midway?

Dierdre McArdle wrote, on ENN (electronicnews.net), that "Yahoo Video Search users will be able to view full motion clips of footage from partner sites, a step that Google has yet to take; so far Google Video only offers still clips of footage."

McArdle continued, "Google launched the beta version of its Google Video in January 2005, shortly after Yahoo's test launch. Google Video is still in test phase."

And bookofjoe.tv moves one step closer.

Ever so slowly and inexorably the journey continues.

Be patient.

It will happen.

Have faith.

George Michael did, but he chose the wrong father figure.

You won't make the same mistake.

You'll make a different one.

As you know all too well, there are so many to choose from.

Like that guy you went out with last night.

Oops.

Sorry, I forgot you don't like to think about stuff like that.

I'll so try to do better in the future.

Really, I will.

Please, can I have another chance?

Please?

Pretty, pretty please?

I'm on my knees... but I digress.

Did you read the bottom line of the Yahoo! graphic that heads this post?

In case you don't have your glasses nearby, it says:

"Are you a video content publisher? Submit your video for indexing with Media RSS."

Oh, yeah.
