Do–Not–Call list for the dead — Admission $1
That's the price the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) is charging for listing someone on its new Deceased–Do–Not–Call list.
The new directory was established just last week but the DMA will grandfather in those who passed previously.
The listing of names will be updated monthly.
Apply within. (Don't forget your credit card.)

The only problem I see with this--and it is a significant one--is that it would deprive the bereaved of perhaps the only consoling moments in the year(s) following the death of a loved one: the sweet revenge of saying "He's DEAD" to an annoying telemarketer. I speak from experience--though an intrepid Comcast salesman did pause only a moment before collecting himself and asking, "So, does anyone else in the household want cable?"
