CryptoKids — The National Security Agency reads bookofjoe

Pictvvure_1

OK kids — your many emails to me from around the world have not gone unnoticed by the National Security Agency's (NSA) vast array of computers.

I would bet that it rivals Google's in scope and capability.

Recently launched under deep cover, now unveiled to the world is the NSA's website for kids.

Wrote Frank Ahrens (scroll down) in today's Washington Post, "The site teaches kids the difference between a code and a cipher, tells you that Rosetta Stone practices martial arts, and includes code–themed brain teasers and games."

So what are you doing here?

Get over there pronto.

Amusing, considering the NSA used to be nicknamed "No Such Agency" and until recently would not even acknowledge its own existence.

That's OK — I've got readers who still haven't come to grips with mine.

Shawn Lea's upcoming book for kid spies–to–be is perfectly timed to catch the rising tide of interest in things cryptic.
