Hands–Free Wooden Card Holder
Last month I featured the lazy person's way to hold your cards, pictured below.
Well, guess what?
Some of my more fastidious readers — yes, you — found the concept admirable but the execution leaving something to be desired.
In particular, several joeheads said that plastic simply didn't cut it.
So I've had the crack research team investigating to see if the same concept's been executed in other materials.
Answer: yes.
They've brought us not one but two different variations in wood.
The first, pictured below,
is a simple, unadorned curved wooden device.
It measures 13"L x 1.5"H.
You get two for $4.49 here.
The second, featured at the top of this post, offers two nice features:
• Three tiers of grooves, which "help organize suits with ease" (though I always thought there were four suits, but that just goes to show you how out of touch I am)
• Free personalization, with up to 12 letters/spaces on each holder
Each measures 8.75"L x 1.5"H x 1.5"D.
You get two for $6.99 here.

You may recall this object:
It was the featured item in my last "What am I?" post, on September 23.
It was identified within hours by a reader who has one as a device originally used to hold music books open, subsequently taken out of the music space to books in general for the same purpose.
You can buy one engraved with your initials in script for $2.99 here.
There won't be any more "What am I?" posts even though they turned out to be extremely popular, at least judging by the number of responses and emails I received after each one.
The reason I'm discontinuing the feature after only three such posts is that it's difficult for me to get interested again in the subject of a post a week or two later when it's time to provide the answer.
That's why I went into and like anesthesiology — every case begins and ends the same day, usually within hours, instead of weeks, months or years treating and dealing with the same thing.

Comments
I belive my brother's choice of Pathology, was motivated by my father's late-night meanderings as a busy OB-GYN doctor.
I always refer to their choice of careers as Dad brings 'em in and Larry sends 'em on their way.
Better hours also.
