Hot Tub Zamboni

There is exactly one such beast in the world and it resides in London, Ontario, Canada.

Brent Noels, co–owner of London Hot Tub Rentals, bought the 1971 Zamboni and spent over a year retrofitting it (above).

It still looks like a Zamboni, with the original driver's seat and dashboard in place, though the engine was removed about three years ago to make room for the fiberglass hot tub, which holds up to 15 people.

The Hot Tub Zamboni is very popular in the London area.

I imagine — especially at this time of year — there's nothing quite like it.

Want to rent it?

No problema: call 519-438-5321.

Ask for Brent and tell him I sent you.

It reminds me of a car a group of us outfitted in high school. It was an MG Midget Convertible. The paint job was horrible so we painted it checkerboard (like the popular Van's skate shoes at the time). We "installed" a keg in the trunk and drilled a hole for tubing - we could drink from the keg right out of the tubing. (But none of us under 18 - the drinking age at the time - would ever join in, of course.)

We drove it up and down the main drag in Long Beach, Mississippi, all night long on the weekends one entire summer before it died an inoperable death. No mechanic could save it, bless its little heart.

If we were smarter, we would have rented it out too. Made a killing, I'm sure. Ah, missed opportunities. Don't look back.
