What will happen when we no longer say 'I'm going online'
When was the last time you said "I'm plugging in" to announce the upcoming use of your microwave or vacuum cleaner?
We now take electricity for granted: it's just there for the use and taking anywhere, anytime.
You can plug something in anywhere and it will work instantly without doing one single additional thing.
Well, guess what?
It took some years for that to happen.
As always with disruptive new technologies, electricity took longer to become an unnoticed part of the fabric of life than most people envisioned but it was ultimately far more profound in its effects than anyone could have imagined.
So with high–speed wireless internet.
How about speed so high that it becomes a non–issue, essentially instantaneous?
How about no–brainer connectivity akin to plugging a TV into the wall?
No, we no longer think of ourselves as "accessing the electric grid" and we won't even notice when — or if – we're on or offline because it won't matter.
The reason I'm in the best mood I've ever been in is because I'm alive at the moment when things are becoming transparent and interconnected.
I believe joeTV's gonna be so much fun I won't be able to believe it's really happening.
Take the pleasure of this pixels–on–LCD placeholder that I call bookofjoe, deepen and extend it — that's precisely what I believe's ahead.
w00t!
