Groovetube — 'Turn your television into a disco light show'

Gttttttt

From the website:

    Q. What is Groovetube?

A.The Groovetube is simply a translucent plastic box that suction cups to the screen of your television. It has a grid of dividers inside it that diffuse the colors from your TV producing an amazing colorful abstraction of anything you watch.

Got that?

Watch actual footage by clicking on "What is Groovetube" here, then on "See QuickTime."

Looks better than most of what's on, what?

They cost $24.95 (13"-15" TVs); $34.95 (19"-22"); and $44.95 (24"-27").

Hey, Joe, I found your site via Kottke, who linked to your post on the very expensive cookbook. I see that you like Tadao Ando--have you visited this building he designed? http://www.themodern.org/new_modern.html I love it!

I can have my very own personal Groovetube any old time I want just by taking off my contact lenses. The effect is more impressionist than cubist, but, still. It's especially effective while riding in a car. And if I'm DRIVING the car, it's a real thrill. For everybody!

For some strange reason a line from an old 30's screwball comedy just popped into my head: "All you need to start an insane asylum is an empty room and the right kind of people."
Amen.
