BoJoe — Time to freshen up for 2006?
I wonder if Brian Fox, the guiding spirit behind Bodo's Bagel Bakery, by a Southern country mile the best place to buy a bagel in Central Virginia, will demand a royalty from every visitor to bookofjoe should I adopt his signature cupwrap's look and feel?
Brian?
John?
Bueller?
Anyone?
As I think about it for a moment it occurs to me that even if I incorporate the design elements shown in this post, short of full–reality tactile internet technology — which is at least a month away, last I heard — it won't really be possible to get the "feel" of a Bodo's cupwrap online.
Perhaps you should explore the Bodo's space for yourself.
There are now three locations in Charlottesville, each with its own chi.
The original, in what was formerly a Roy Rogers that went out of business because of its terrible location — or so said the scoffers back in the day, when Brian opened it — is at 1418 North Emmet Street (Route 29); 434-977-9598.
The second location is at 505 Preston Avenue; 434-293-5224.
The newest and by far the most stylish is on the Corner across from UVA, at 1609 University Avenue; 434-293-6021.
Mmmmm... just writing this I'm really getting in a mood for a Cleo.
What's a Cleo?
Bodo's version of a kinder, gentler Caesar salad.
FunFact: Did you know that I am the only person on planet Earth, of the six billion plus who populate its surface and orbit, allowed to wear inline skates in Bodo's?
You could look it up — but you probably won't find it anywhere, so just call Brian and ask him yourself.
Like any great CEO, from time to time he answers the phone himself to get a feel for the pulse of his business.
Yes, when it came to me rolling through the door in full regalia, Starbucks and Greenberry's just couldn't take it but Bodo's, ah, that's an everything of a different flavor....

*Ahem*
It might have been a while, but unless Brian has rescinded permission, I have blessed the floors of the Preston Ave. Bodo's with my 'blades on many an occasion. :)
