Jack (jack@gmail.com) offers the best comment ever

Just in: here it is in its unedited entirety just as it appears on the right under "Comments."

- I feel sorry for your 'research team', as if they even exist... If they're so brain dead, why should they bother to help out an old bitter man like you? No wonder your wife left, you, I bet she's alot happier now without a complete ingrate like you. and by the way, that picture of you has got to be at least 20 or thirty years old. Why don't you get a recent one, so everyone can see the effects of aging and bitternesson the face of a man whose wife left him because she was sick of his abuse? I'll bet you don't keep this post up for very long, because you're too gutless and afraid the 10 people who read this will know what a loser of a man you are. Later Joe, much...
********************
If you'd like to hear my ex–wife's comment on Jack's encomium, please let me know and I'll pass on your emails to her.
She and I get along great and she'd find the above screed as hilarious as I did.
Of course, the best part is that Jack has to hide behind a fake name and email address.
Oh, well, whatever floats your boat, I guess....

what kind of sick individual would hide behind a fake name and faked email address?

I have to say that I think it may be a man and this is why: 1) I think it is unlikely that a woman would have selected the name choice that he did--Jack M***f. If she would have selected a non "G-rated" name, it would have been something else; and 2)the way the message was ended, "later Joe, much..." I guess it could always be a girl who grew up with a bunch of boys... Come one Jack, why don't you clarify?

The scorned admirer theory is intriguing. But who says it has to be a woman? Perhaps Joe's charms have a universal appeal. Maybe he's the unisex fragrance of cyberspace.

Joe, I'm sorry to hear about the recent loss of your looks. Although I haven't seen you F2F for at least a couple of years, I do recall that you resembled your picture precisely around 2004. I can only assume that blogging has taken a strong toll on your carved visage. It's a shame.

I totally agree.
I think Jack may be Jackie!!!

Has anyone considered that "jack" could be "jane" - an extremely jealous female whose dream is to become not only a member of Joe's crack research team but Joe's very special girlfriend & that this relationship is not happening has caused her to become bitter & vengeful? Whoever it is has either met Joe or done enough research to learn that Joe is divorced & ,yes, that the picture he uses is not recent. These are facts which are easily discovered but not obvious just from reading Joe's blog. Seems to me that bookofjoe green may have morphed "jack" into a green-eyed monster.
Keep on keeping on, Joe. Your posts are the sunshine on cloudy days.

Wow. Who stole his cupcake? I stumbled across Joe's blog about a year ago from a link at Paul Katcher's and have been reading it every day ever since - totally hooked - and I share what I learn here with whoever will listen. Why the hate from Jack is beyond me, but I really don't care. I am very grateful for what Joe shares with us and hope he continues to do so for many years to come. At least Jack's ridiculous outburst gives me the opportunity to say, "Thanks, Joe."

One worries about a fellow who is unclear re the existence of the Crack Research Team. Which of life's other deeper truths do you suppose have escaped him?

Joe, the scientists say you have 89 subscribers on bloglines (alone). Complete ingrate? Quantify that please.

Hang on, calling him an idiot isn't fair to us idiots. And anyway, you have to be at least human to be an idiot.

dear jack,
OK, this pisses me off.
as a certified, ex-crack research team member, i am extremely offended by your comments regarding my old boss. something must have crawled up your ass today for you to have unloaded on him like this. joe is in no way bitter or gutless, or, for gods sake, abusive. you fail to see the humor in his comments which only tells me you have not been reading bookofjoe very long. most of his dedicated readers know he disses the crack research team with gentle prodding. its all in FUN jack, something you don't appear to have much of. you are an idiot jack.
