Pierced Earring Converters — Episode 2: Revenge of the Posts
No sooner had I brought to your attention last Saturday the Bizarro World pierced earring converters that might have been designed by someone on a bad acid trip than close reader Katherine pointed out how horrible they were.
Stipulated.
But bookofjoe is about making things better, not whingeing and complaining.
And in this spirit came one Ira two days ago with his much more stylish take on the problem of wearing pierced earrings without having piercings.
Ira styles himself "The Earring Doctor" on his website, earringdoctor.com, and offers his nifty reusable converters, which allow you to make pierced earrings wearable without the holes, in both gold– and silver–toned versions.
The best part, besides the fact that they're unobtrusive, is that they're only $3.50 a set here.
Just goes to show that price isn't everything: the Bizarro World iteration, you may recall, cost $8.99.

I think that piercing is a matter of style and health. that's why it should be done by specialists.

This doesn't cut it either. Bending the post is a terrible idea. It just weakens it and ruins the earrings. So if you want to wear those heirlooms, it'll just be the one time, then they're shot. Guess you'd better just buy whatever kind of earrings you are going to wear. If it's pierced, just get the holes in your ears. Then you can wear either.

Is this for real or a joke? I'm thinking it's a joke though. It's not April 1st either.
