    Measures: 12" x 6.5" x 0.5".

Huh.

I wonder how long it will be till someone scrolls "YO MAMA" or some equivalent thereof and someone reading it, probably in L.A., takes it the wrong way, pulls out a piece and blows away the license plate — or the driver.

But, if you'd like to go where no one has gone before then this may be just the ticket for you.

The Red version (top) costs $49.95 here.

Feeling blue?

No problema — they've got yours too: $59.95 here.

Interesting idea...can think a few things I can definetely put as message to idiot drivers and tailgaters. But perhaps messages to a motorists behind you, especially young women, can be a little dangerous. There are many sick people out there on the look-out for a prey and sending out cute little messages can lure in innocent people. On the other hand, even though I'd love the idea of telling off some jerks on the road, any obscenities can also increase road rage and make it dangerous for other drivers.

I thought about making a comment when I first saw this, but somehow I refrained from doing so. Of course, I can't seem to stop thinking about this programmable license plate billboard, so I guess I have to say something. My first reaction was certainly horror. I thought to myself, "is this what learning from Las Vegas is supposed to be about?" Not only are license plates poorly designed, now we have some tacky billboard to keep it in place. Great!
The other day with my husband we were commenting how license plates--no matter what state you are in--are for the most part designed without any thought or that's how it seems. The type, the composition, the palette, and the imagery (why should it even have imagery?) are so poor lacking in sophistication. If you look at european license plates, they are beautiful to look at--simple, clean.. why can't we have something of the sort?

Is there a right way to take "Yo Mama"?

I'm sure a tailgater would love to be told to stop tailgating. They'd probably just pull in front of you and thank you with their own license plate billboard.

Wow... that is so pimp my teeth are turning gold just looking at it. That or I need to lay off the strong dark coffee again.

Yeah... I don't see this stopping a lot of tailgating. You would have to get right up on them to read that little thing. Totally agree with Shawn Lee.

My first thought was of the day they added a small sign to the bottom of a narrow, spiraling set of stairs at work. I was starting on my way up, had just started to take the first step and the new sign caught my eye. In my mind, I stopped to read it, but this obviously didn't register to my feet quickly enough, because I tripped on the stairs (but luckily caught myself before inflicting much bodily damage - or embarassment).

The new sign? "Please be careful. These steps are very narrow."

We're no longer at that building but I still laugh every time I think of how the "Please be careful" sign could have sent me to the hospital. (The risk managers in the building don't find the story funny however.) ;)

So I'm imagining trying to read a flashing license doohickey when said car slams on the brakes and I never even see the rear end coming at me.

Interesting, Joey, how I imagine mischief and you imagine mayhem. Makes me wonder what your signature personality test results were!
