Instant Screened Room

Bfdgnfngf

No flies on you once you pop this puppy open.

From the website:

So compact it fits in a bag the size of a suitcase, this enclosure pops open instantly, transforming into a screened–in room large enough to accommodate 10 adults.

The fully-opened room has mesh sides and a covered roof to provide a breezy shelter that stays cool but blocks out sun and insects at the beach, in the backyard, at a park or wherever you take it.

The door zips open for quick access and the room can be secured to the ground with four stakes (not included).

When it’s time to stow it away, the spring–steel frame simply folds down in six easy steps.

    Includes carrying case.

    Black with blue.

    Opened dimensions: 72"H x 72"W x 72"D.

    Closed dimensions: 2.5"H x 30"W x 30"L.

    11 lbs.

How do you spell par–tay?

Reduced from $69.95 to $49.95.

That's definitely one any product managers or designers need to work on. In my 36 years, I have not yet encountered even one product that promises popping and instantly transforming and compactness that ever fits back right in its original package once it's been transformed. Never.

Joe's Wittgenstein did say that if people never did silly things nothing intelligent would ever get done, so even though they make me feel silly for trying, I keep buying. But, alas, nothing intelligent is getting done in the end.

Maybe it's the very nature of transformation that needs to be examined here. Maybe once we leave one state to take on another it's just impossible to go back to the initial state unchanged. Nature abhors a vacuum and all. ;)

Bought one of those last summer...went up in about 20 seconds - NEVER came down again - at least not small enough to get back into its case.

Had a rainstorm a couple days later and it collapsed in on itself.
After that, the hoops got twisted somehow, and it would never stand up correctly again.
It is now covering my firewood ( the floor=tarp )and come spring, I'll no doubt break it into component parts (screen, floor) and try to get some real use out of it.

Flutist, I think I need to marry you, because the minute mosquito-magnet-I read this post I thought "I NEED that".

Without you I would most likely be penniless and drowning in lots of "stuff".

How 'bout it?

Alarm bells are just going off all over the place here. Pops open instantly? (That could be real good or REAL bad.) Blocks out insects? (Even things like ants? Cockroaches?) You can nail it to the ground with four stakes that don't happen to be included? The frame "simply" folds down? Six "easy" steps? I don't think so. I spell par-tay n-o c-h-a-n-c-e i-n h-e-l-l.

My first thought was, you're going to the beach and willing to cram 10 adults into this tent thing? I think you have more problems than just flies. I see the advantage in the portable screen room, but 10 ADULTS?
