Your stupid

If I weren't a TechnoDolt™ I could create wonderful things like the little graphic above instead of having to rely on blind luck and fate to occasionally stumble upon them.

The tart admonitions are from Lynne Truss's best–selling book, "Eats, Shoots & Leaves."

while many of these pithy admonishments may come from the panda book, i think these are mostly aimed at World of Warcraft players - perhaps this animated gif is someone's avatar from a WoW message board. the rouge/rogue and horde/hoard are very common text messaged malaprops there, and the "congrats for a D" references the common act of congratulating someone for merely passing to the next level in the game (not Failing and getting an F).

You're wierd readers (i.e. me) are a hoard of rouges, in my judgement. Sum of the peoples comments, their just piss pour. I aught to no sense I wright allot of them.

While stuck for far too long in the Dallas airport yesterday before deciding to rent a damn car at 11 p.m. at night and drive myself home (and four other total strangers...very interesting) in the horrendous weather, I read some article somewhere about eggcorns - words that are misspelled but somehow in their misspelling seem to get deeper into the heart of the word than the correct spelling. Geoffrey Pullum coined the word and now they are even collected in databases: http://eggcorns.lascribe.net/

An eggcorn is not another name for malapropism. The mistake must make more sense than the original, like "for all intensive purposes" and "like a bowl in a china shop"...and maybe a special eggcorn just for bookofjoe, "your stupid," as we all love and participate in the inanity! ;)

Also, please remember to separate a rat.

While I can be particular about proper word use and punctuation (especially when clarity is at stake), I also realize that one of the strengths of English is its adaptability. It's a hybrid language that keeps morphing to suit those who use it.

From her book: "It’s tough being a stickler for punctuation these days. One almost dare not get up in the mornings."

It's so nice to find another stickler in these times that try the (grammatical) soul. Lynne Truss is my new best friend. And, of course, I thank my wonderful Joey for introducing her to me.
