Pet Murphy Bed
From the website:
- Inspired by the original space-saving Murphy bed invented in 1900, this pet bed conveniently lifts and stows away when not in use, converting to a classic chest that frees up floor space and hides the bed away during parties or other gatherings.
The frame and chest are handcrafted of durable, highly renewable plantation-grown Thai rubberwood, stained in your choice of Black or Mahogany.
The bed's soft surface has 4" of comfortable foam and batting protected by a washable imported poly-cotton cover.
The spacious 22" x 28" bed area is suitable for cats and small to medium dogs (up to 200 lbs.).
Closes securely with magnetic closures and safety lock; includes optional mounting holes to secure the bed to a wall.
Dimensions when closed: 36" H x 24" W x 10" D. (
55 lbs.

"Small to medium dogs (up to 200 lbs.)" — yikes.
Fairly liberal criteria, what?
The crack research team tells me they found news of a 286 lb. dog here so I guess 200 lbs. is more or less a middleweight in the larger scheme of things.
Gibson, a harlequin great Dane in Grass Valley, California, is the world's tallest living dog according to the Guinness Book of World Records, measuring 42.2" tall.
You could look it up.
The Murphy bed costs $199.95.

At first glance I thought that was a tombstone from the pet cemetery.

My cat would lie on that bed for a while..though he does tend to get get bored with the places where he chooses to sack out...

No cat who's a real cat is going to lay on that bed. It's going to knock the plant and books off and flop down on the top there. Unless, of course, you drape your favorite/most expensive coat on the bed. THEN it will roll around and wad up in it.
