Clove-Scented Garbage Bags?

Hggfhgfghj_1

Ever wake up, look outside and find that while you were sleeping the real animal house had a party in your garbage?

Not a pretty sight — or smell.

Marianne Rohrlich, in the May 25 New York Times, wrote about a new product: scented garbage bags purported to keep the wildlife outside the bags.

    Here's her piece:

The manufacturer of a new line of garbage bags treated with harmless oil-based scents — peppermint, citronella, rosemary, clove, geranium and lemon — claims that they will keep animals and insects away.

Repell-em, which makes the bags, says that they are effective against dogs, cats, bears, raccoons, even insects, and that in tests, bags loaded with all sorts of throwaways were approached by animals and sometimes even touched, but survived untorn and unopened.

What?

No Black Fig and Absinthe?

The bags are bright red [top] and come in two sizes, 13 gallon ($14.95 for 20) and 33 gallon ($14.95 for 10) at repellem.com; 631-273-3992.

"The bags are bright red ... " which means someone goofed. To the people who pick up your trash, red bags mean medical waste - and they will not take it.
