National Register of Big Trees
The 2006-2007 winners are in.
870 trees, including 119 newly-elected champions, take their places of honor.
The General Sherman giant sequoia (top) in California continues to stand tall, as it were, as the largest tree in the U.S.
It's 274 feet high with an 85-foot circumference and a 107-foot-tall crown spread.
