New Wave Herb Ball
From the website:
- Silicone Herb Ball
Never fuss with cheesecloth again.
Instead, stuff this herb ball's stainless steel chamber with flavorings and cook with your dish.
Stay-cool silicone grip lets you remove it with ease and 3-1/4" diameter silicone tray collects drips.
Silicone is heat-resistant to 500°F.
8-1/2" high x 2" diameter.
Dishwasher-safe.
Full disclosure: this device makes me a little homesick: it reminds me of my first warp-drive ship back when I was a teenager
in a galaxy far, far away....

I've always used a tea ball for similar purposes - and the largest ones only cost about $6. I do this to bring some distinction back to my dish, as generally when it calls for bouquet garni my first impusle is to just dump the herbs straight in from the spice bottle. Ironically, it's called a French bouquet garni - which sounds much fancier to me - if you use dried herbs. If you use fresh herbs, it's just called a bouquet garni.
(And most people that make fresh bouquet garni for soups and such don't cut the herbs down, they just tie them together in cheesecloth. So how the hell are they going to fit in that ball? I'm just saying is all.)
