You know, I could get highly offended by that remark, and stomp off in a state of high dudgeon, if I wasn't such a forgiving individual. And what's REALLY in that basket, anyway? Who says it's feminine, gossamer underthings? It could be a load of old sweaty (albeit colorful) jockstraps for all you know. Hmph.
And anyhow, once you pass a certain age, you don't need some prissy mesh bag to wash your "delicates," because they tend to not be so damn delicate anymore. You could probably tow a car with a "mature" girl's brassiere. Hmph.
