How do you stop the headboard knocking on the wall during - er - manoevers?

Actually, I rather like the idea, but I have enough trouble stopping the kids using the bed as a trampoline already. Also, it needs cups on the bottoms of the springs or it'll mark the carpet really badly. Come to think of it, how do you move it sideways to vacuum underneath? I'd just boing back again.

For all that, I'm tempted to make one for the kids.

Cursory examination of what happens when a car's got working springs but worn-out dampers will reveal why this is not necessarily such a great idea.

If you think you'd enjoy a bed that goes boi-oi-oi-oi-oi-oi-oinnnnng for several seconds every time you or your partner rolls over, then go ahead. But bear in mind that oscillation damping is a non-trivial part of the design of modern WATER-beds...
