Synthetic Breathing Puppies — I've heard of letting sleeping dogs lie, but this is ridiculous

"Do you like our owl?"

"It's artificial?"

"Of course it is."

"Must be expensive."

"Very."

From the website:

    Life-Like Puppies

    Life-like puppies actually "breath"!

As irresistibly adorable as the real thing!

Enjoy the companionship of a pup without the stress or mess.

Squeezably soft design and soothing breathing sounds make them perfect for cuddling.

Each includes bed, collar, carrying case and adoption certificate.

    Perfect for comforting lonely seniors.

Uses 2 D batteries (one included).

    Approximately 5" x 9" x 3-1/2".

"Uses 2 D batteries (one included)" is perhaps the strangest thing I've come across this month.

Wait a minute....

Does Sony know about this?

Beagle, Golden Retriever, German Shepherd or Pug (pictured in order from the top down) — each $29.98.

First person to correctly identify which of the four puppies is actually an imposter from the Bizarro World wins a prize.

It would be great if you would have a demostration as to how it looks breathing and making noises. LTD has something similar in their catalog and they have a video showing how they work. You should do that also.

I want to see breathing, purring kitties from this manufacturer!

One cat I had was pretty much just like a stuffed animal. He'd crawl next to me and stay there, purring. I'd go to work and come home and see him in the same place as when I left...

The pug is a mirror image of the picture on the vendors website so it's a bizarro Pug.

In a cabinet near the exit to one of the dinosaur galleries in London's Natural History Museum is a cat-sized animatronic dinosaur having a snooze. It doesn't do much - just takes a breath from time to time, twitches the very tip of its tail and occasionally its eyelids flutter. But it's mesmerising to those kids that notice it.
