EZ Lift Toilet Seat Handle
A stopgap until I learn to levitate.
From the website:
- EZ Lift Handle — No More Touching The Seat!
Avoid germs by lifting and lowering a toilet seat without having to touch it.
The EZ Lift makes cleaning easier and more hygienic.
Handle also acts as a reminder that a seat is down.
Installs using strong tape (included).
Works with all size seats.
Bacteria-resistant plastic.
2 for $9.95 (toilet seat not included).

I installed the E-Z Lift Handle in all three of my bathrooms.

I bought the E-Z Lift Handle and I love it. I bought several for family. I find it easier to teach my little boy to lift and lower the toilet seat.

I found it much easier to have two levers permanently attached to my elbows thus allowing me continued contamination of my hands.

In what way is the lever different from the seat? It's only a couple of inches from the seat, it's stuck firmly to it, it's about as likely to be clean as the seat is.
Anyway - toilets are over-rated as sources of infection. Your hands are generally far dirtier than the seat you're touching.

I have 2 EZ Lift handles of my own - and they're conveniently attached to my ankles. :-)
