Pumpkin Patch Hat — Official Halloween Hat of bookofjoe

Gbuhuhhiuh

Flautist-approved so you know it has to be good.

From the website:

    Pumpkin Patch Hat

Our "pick" of fall's cutest accessories!

This cozy fleece hat is done up in bright pumpkin orange with fresh green trim and style that's home-grown fun.

Adjustable drawstring fits most sizes and ages.

    In a soft 50% cotton/50% polyester blend.

    11" diameter.

...................

Huh.

People always act as if I just fell off the turnip truck but no one's ever alluded to there being pumpkins on board.

Time to have my crack research team investigate, what?

$5.99.

If anyone is interested in a little genteel but highly effective early twentieth century spookiness for Halloween, I highly recommend they don their punkin hat and check out these two tales by M.R. James:

Oh Whistle, And I'll Come to You, My Lad

If you don't have gaslights in your study, candles in the bedchamber might do. There should be some kind of large dog -- maybe an Irish wolfhound-type creature -- laid out on the hearthrug and a very fat cat warming up by a crackling fire. It should be a dark and stormy night -- full of owls and questionable bats -- with a serious wind rattling the panes and fusillades of acorns pelting the roof.

Or, a flashlight under the blankies.

h00t!
