Moon uses 4 AA batteries (not included).
Auto shut-off saves batteries.

Boy, do I see a great hack here: make it so the moon on your wall automatically mirrors the actual phase in the sky.

Sic transit novus -- I just noticed this is already on offer at Thinkgeek for $20. A jaded era, isn't it, when having one's own in-house Moon excites only two-thirds the expected interest...?

Why is a hack needed? Line two of the description say it can be matched to the moon outside, and the title says automatic.
