Shower Curtain Hole Repair — Episode 2: Industrial Strength

Hguhuhu

Ever since Episode 1 back on January 13, 2007, I've received about one or two emails a month requesting a link to the source.

Shawn Lea, the head of my crack research team, promptly responds as requested.

But as befits a crack research team, it never rests in the search for better and cheaper.

I'm delighted to report that they've just discovered a repair kit that will outlast your shower curtain — guaranteed, or I'll refund every penny you pay should you pop for a set.

Don't be put off by their recommended use for tarps — they should work just fine in your bathroom space.

From the website:

    Eyelets

No matter what we might try, there does not seem to be any easy way to tie down a sheet, tarp, fabric or plastic film and have it stay in place.

Rope tied around the corners always seems to work loose and if you poke a hole in it, the hole eventually just tears bigger.

That is why these tough plastic eyelets were invented.

They will save you hours of frustration.

Just fold the material over, put the eyelet halves on either side of the material and hammer together.

It makes a permanent and very strong connection.

Now the material can be held in place neatly with cord or rope.

Works well with our floating row covers, shade cloth and plastic films.

Accepts rope up to 1/2" in diameter.

....................

Ten for $3.40.

That's 34¢ apiece.

For comparison, the earlier iteration offered 12 for $7.95 — but recommended you use two on each hole repaired.

So you'd effectively be paying $1.32, nearly four times as much as this far more robust version.

The choice is yours.
