bookofjoe MoneyMaker™: Cat-a-Log

So simple and obvious once you see it, you realize only a fool could have thought of it.
Wait a minute....
What's a Cat-a-Log®™©?
A cedar log about a foot high and 8-10 inches across with the bark removed and the bare wood surface cleaned up to look pretty as cedar does.
You stand it on end and your cats use it for a scratching post, each time releasing fragrant cedar scent into your home.
Genius, if I do say so myself.
Might as well — no one else is going to.
So, who's going to take this and make a nice business out of it?
Profit margin should be huge, what with the cost of wholesale wood and the unskilled labor required to prepare it for sale.
Make sure to charge way more than it's worth so people will think it's more desirable.
I'd recommend $30 a pop.
Sell 10,000 with $25 profit from each and you're sitting on a sweet quarter of a million bucks.
As always, it's fine to pretend you thought of it.
That's the bookofjoe way.

My feline steadfastly refuses to use any but the corrugated cardboard claw surface. Do you need a carpet-covered scratching post?
