Steinway Lyngdorf Model D Music System
The piano company has partnered with Danish sound engineer Peter Lyngdorf and launched their first joint product.
It comprises two speaker units, each over 6½ feet high with seven individual speakers, and a central 40-inch-high head unit.
You choose the custom veneers to match your interior design palette.
According to a Financial Times story, "... the sound quality is unmatchable thanks to an onboard computer that dovetails the system's audio output to the shape and acoustic qualities of your room."

And these, very expensive, computer-driven speakers are only as good as the input - GIGO (assuming that the signal processing system doesn't color the sound in ways that the artist never intended).
How about these alternatives:
(1) www.bang-olufsen.com/page.asp?id=40 (a computer geek's speaker)
(2) www.klipsch.com/products/details/60th-anniversary-klipschorn.aspx (Hard to beat for classical)
(3) www.us.martinlogan.com/speaker_intro/summit.html (if you have the power these have the sound)
(4) www.ohmspeaker.com/styles_walsh.cfm (perhaps the most innovative design in high-fidelity speakers)
(5) www.orbaudio.com/ (great price, good sound)

Few rooms can take large lumps of gloss black. Looks nice till you get it home! I know - we replaced an old dying CRT telly a couple of months ago with a flat thing. It was "piano black" but it was also cheap. Now I've resprayed it two-tone silver it looks far more in keeping with the room. Taking a brand new telly apart is a bit nerve wracking though.
