TigerTaco — 'Just bend down a box flap and slide on a taco'

3frdfr_2

Say what?

Chris Miller, co-inventor of the TigerTaco, loved the Roll Buddy (featured here last Tuesday) enough to take time out from hand-finishing deluxe TigerTacos to put up a comment.

As one busy professional to another, I salute him: Thanks, Chris!

But I digress.

From the TigerTaco website:

    TigerTaco

TigerTacos make shipping and moving boxes easier.

You just fold down a flap and slide on a TigerTaco; in seconds, a box is just a box; with the flaps out of the way, you get more space, convenience, and less hassle — all just because you were clever and smart enough to get TigerTacos.

....................

Below, Chris stars in a video which might be called "Hold That Tiger."

Four plastic TigerTacos (like the one below)

Plastic_2

cost $4.95.

For those who are satisfied with nothing but the best, there's the steel TigerTaco (below),

Steel_2

each one made from "One full pound of 20-gauge cold-rolled steel, laser-cut, powder-coated, baked to 400° and hand-finished by Chris and George in the the United States of America."

What, not signed by Chris and/or George?

At that price you'd think they might deign to put a Sharpie squiggle or two on them.

But I digress yet again.

Four for $18.95.

Sweet thinking and observations! It's so refreshing to hear what the real world thinks as we're not IdeaLab and just a couple of guys doing our best.

@Joe: No, I salute you for turning over rocks to show people interesting things and give your POV because it's seen a lot of "gadgets" and crazy things. Imho The Roll Buddy is perfect for what it is and I think it’s cool they’ve created and done what it takes to get "here" with it. LOL: Sharpie squiggle signing steel tacos to justify their cost; if only it was that easy! They're our best, guaranteed for life (George's;~), and I actually have to work on them so people have to pay to make this monkey dance! But yeah it’s impossible to justify the cost in Wally World.

@Skipweasel: You're right about folding the flaps down to the inside of the box; it makes the box stronger and keeps them out of your way. You just can't do this when you already have stuff in the box; and while box-flaps are evil, you do need them “handy” if you go to seal a box for shipping or storage. You can use banana or file boxes that don't have flaps, but when it comes your basic box, your choices are to ignore the flaps, jam something against them, or use Tiger Tacos (you can also use tape, rubber bands, bulldog clips, coat hangers, or whatever you want, but I've tried them all and nothing is nearly as perfect or easy as a taco!~).

@Knave: We did heavy "grindage" on the name; you're the first to say it negates any actual functional value; lots of products and services have funny names, and we almost went with something like "box taco" to answer the "what" of our invention, but we wanted you to smile and laugh about our "brand" (not alienate you). Our "humor" is one of the main reasons a company in the UK is going to be selling Purple Tiger Tacos (I was like, “ah, ya sure you want to use our name; tigers are at least orange.") go figure what's the "right" decision.

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for making us smile and think about life and what we do (or don’t do!).

I just can't take it seriously with that name. It might be a great product but... TIGER TACO? I could never manage to not laugh at that.

Or bend the sides /inwards/ and the box is stronger!
