Loro Piana 'One Step to Heaven' Cashmere Carpet

23

From the Loro Piana website:

    'One Step to Heaven'

Loro Piana’s ultimate expression of cashmere is the "One Step to Heaven" collection of naturally coloured pure cashmere carpeting [top] designed for the most intimate atmosphere, not just for the home but for private yachts, planes and helicopters as well.

Easily coordinated with the wide range of fabrics in the Loro Piana Interiors collection, these carpets offer the experience of walking on the softest, purest cashmere ever (there are 2kg of fibre in 1 square meter), without sacrificing the hard wearing characteristics and ease of maintenance of standard wool carpets.

....................

Wallpaper* magazine featured this carpeting in its February, 2008 "Best Of" issue, and described it as follows:

    'One Step to Heaven' Carpet

Made from 100 percent cashmere. It comes in three natural shades, has been treated with stain-resistant technology and will set you back a reassuringly expensive €1,180 per sq m [$1,731.53 USD]… that’s two kilos of precious cashmere for every square metre.

You’ll also find no ‘sweepings’ (the fibres swept up off the floor and used to make knits of dubious quality) as only the best bits go into this carpet. These come from the very soft, silky hairs of the under-fleece of the Kel goats that roam the mountains of Inner Mongolia.

...................

Note to file: Remember this stuff when it comes time to outfit the bookofjoe helicopter.
