We're located about 40 miles from the launch site and it's amazing from here!

About the time the shuttle goes out of sight (about five minutes after launch) you start to hear it. A low rumble that shakes the windows and makes the doggie door swing in and out.

The night launches are better yet! Mind boggling yet somehow creepy.
