Car/Bike Anti-Theft Device

Clever.

From the website:

    Car/Bike Anti-Theft Device

These rust and scratch stickers are designed to make your beautiful bike (or car) look rusted and scratched so that a passing thief assumes the vehicle is not worth stealing due to its apparent shabbyness.

This anti-theft device is not guaranteed to work in any way.

However, Dominic has stuck them to his shiny new red bike and can confirm that it hasn't been stolen yet.

i seem to remember william gibson writing about this in virtual light - Chevette - [I believe that was the character's name] did almost this exact thing to her bike to prevent theft....interesting...

Yebbut - people don't steal cars for their value half as often as they steal them for joyriding or for use in another crime. They're not going to be put off by a few scrappy bits.
