Calibrated Butter Dish — Episode 2: Price Break
Two years ago this clever kitchen tool cost $9.98.
Now you can get two for about the same price.
Yet another example of the applicability of Moore's law outside the semiconductor space.
From the website:
- Calibrated Butter Keeper
This butter storage container has an airtight cover that keeps stored butter fresher longer, while minimizing annoying odor absorption.
The bottom dish has double-sided markings for butter sticks and makes for easy measuring, dispensing and portion control.
Holds one stick of butter.
Dishwasher safe plastic.

This is taking it tooo far. Really, it doesn't matter if you put 10 grams more so just approximate! Also, not every wrapper in every country has markers on it.

But everyone who bakes with butter knows the wrappers on every stick are already marked. Just slice through and peel away the wrapper. And as far as portion control goes, a cardiologist would say a proper portion is zero.
