Wait - when I turn my garden hose on, the water arrives thanks to our pump and expansion tank, which run on - electricity.

When an ice storm is predicted, we fill our bathtub, because when we lose power (i.e., go off the grid involuntarily) we have no water.

Life is different in the country.
