Every panda was kung fu fighting
I'm really looking forward to seeing "Kung Fu Panda" (above), which opened two weeks ago.
According to an article in the June 18, 2008 Financial Times, it took 25 million computing hours to create.
More FunFacts from the FT story:
• 2,200 computer systems were used
• Before the film was finally ready for release, it consisted of about 45 terabytes of pre-computed caches of scenes and working copies, mostly at low resolution
• The final product has 125,000 frames of animation comprising about three terabytes of data
Worth every flop.
