Locking Gas Cap — It's that time again

U0808

These became popular last century during the gas rationing era.

I remember thinking how great it was to live in L.A. and not have a car every time I read in the paper about fights and gunfire breaking out at gas stations between aggrieved parties lining up for what they thought was their fair share.

But I digress.

True, a locking gas cap won't protect you against really serious thieves who now bypass the filler port and just drill or punch a hole in your car right into your gas tank — but hopefully you won't encounter any such maniacally aggressive individuals.

If you do, keep your distance 'cause one spark will turn your vehicle — and anyone in the vicinity, especially the idiotstick erstwhile fuel robber — into a fireball.

It helps to live in a Podunk town, I will say that.

From the product website:

    Locking Gas Cap

    Gas theft?

    Yes, it’s happening.

With fuel prices high, reports of gasoline theft are on the rise.

With a bit of tubing, a little suction and a few uninterrupted minutes, a thief can literally drain you dry.

Protect yourself and your vehicle with a locking gas cap.

These solidly-built gas caps will keep your fuel where it belongs — in your tank.

$19.95.

Wow! I am generally soooo for the abolition of the war on drugs...I've never done anything more than drink (which is arguably more dangerous to society than anything else anyone could do) but I can't stand the gov't telling us what we can and can't put in our body.

But then folks like jsknow post and I'm convinced the war on drugs is a great thing because it takes dumbass hippies off the street. Seriously dude, if there was another alcohol prohibition, I'd be all over it...I'd probably have a still in my garage. I'm not, however, man, gonna create a myth of lies that I really couldn't tell if it were true or not just to try, man, to get, like, people to support my cause, dude.

Hemp leaches the soil worse than any other plant out there...there is a reason it is called 'weed'...because it can grow on almost anything. And once it is done -- nothing else is going to grow there. Who cares...in small quantities it won't kill the environment and you can still smoke it. None of this gawddarn environmental crap...just admit you want to smoke it up and be done with it. And when you do, I'll drink to that...

Eff'n hippies...

Why not just kill the whole enery lie and be done with it?

Marijuana can produce several different kinds of fuel. In the 1800's and 1900's hempseed oil was the primary source of fuel in the United States and was commonly used for lamps and other oil energy needs. The diesel engine was originally designed to run on marijuana oil because Rudolf Diesel assumed that it would be the most common fuel. Marijuana is also the most efficient plant for the production of methanol. It is estimated that, in one form or another, marijuana grown in the United States could provide up to ninety percent of the nation's entire energy needs.

Hemp is 4 times more efficient than corn as biofuel. Hemp pellets can be used to produce clean electricity.

... so powerful it could replace every type of fossil fuel energy product (oil, coal, and natural gas).

... This plant is the earth's number one biomass resource or fastest growing annual plant for agriculture on a worldwide basis, producing up to 14 tons per acre. This is the only biomass source available that is capable of producing all the energy needs of the U.S. and the world...

Hemp will produce cleaner air and reduce greenhouse gases. When biomass fuel burns, it produces CO2 (the major cause of the greenhouse effect), the same as fossil fuel; but during the growth cycle of the plant, photosynthesis removes as much CO2 from the air as burning the biomass adds, so hemp actually cleans the atmosphere. After the first cycle there is no further loading to the atmosphere...
