Created by Martin Wattenberg and Fernanda Viégas of IBM's Watson Research Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

In a story in the current issue (July 2008) of Wired magazine, Mark Horowitz described it as "a collaborative site where users can share their own dynamic, interactive representations of big data."
