Ach. I see I have to expand my cone ethic. I suppose, although the dish shape is, traditionally, technically not acceptable, the "waffle" material, being not merely edible but virtually (possibly exactly) the same substance customarily pressed and shaped into the cone pattern and configuration, is. So, okay.

No dish!
What if the dish is a waffle cone bowl? Where does that lie in the cone <--> dish continuum?

Frustrating! Frustrating, I say. The texture & crunch of the cone is the denouement of the whole ice-cream-cone-eating experience! I don't need no stinkin' machine to tell me where to lick! Other than atop various dessert concoctions, there are only two acceptable methods of intake: packed into the cone (waffle, cake or sugar), or right out of the barrel (or box, if you must). No dish! Spoon (or scoop) is allowed.
