reminds me of these glow-in-the-dark tent-stakes I used to have. Another great idea in the sale bin. They also worked as chopsticks and hairpins. They lived in the fancy crystal bowl for pens/pencils/scissors/etc on the kitchen counter and were such good conversation pieces (what do you think it is?) that I gave most of them away to friends.

When I was a beach-going guy, I'd take a king size sheet instead of a towel or blanket. It would be large enough that I could hold it down with a scoop of sand on each corner and still have plenty of room. Besides, it packed away smaller and lighter.

I wonder if I can find something like this around here. I'm leaving for the seaside in a couple of hours and I relish the thought of tons of sand on my towel. Not.
