Speaking animatedly, I just watched a few of the old Fleischer "Popeye" cartoons, and I think I found the single most violence-packed Popeye I've ever seen. It's great! (Olive Oyl has only a tiny part, and her voice is much lower -- she must've forgot to take her estrogen.)

"Clean Shaven Man" has terrific music -- it was always wonderfully witty, and usually included outstanding bary sax and piccolo work, and Olive Oyl sounds more like her old self. And I never realized that Wimpy had a barber shop. Hunh.

The "Dream Walking" cartoon was always one of my favorites. Incredible ballet of interweaving sleepwalkers, and I really identify with Olive Oyl's feet, which look quite a bit like mine, only mine are bigger. It does bother me some, though, how she pits Bluto/Brutus and Pops against each other with such relish. Probly needs some counseling. Anyway.
