Yea, I didn't really feel much for his work either until I read Richard P. Tayor's Scientific American article on the relationship between Pollock's work and naturally occurring fractals, which definitely threw it into a light that I could appreciate much more. Regardless if his role within it is either conscious or unconscious, the relationship between his work and fractals still speaks of a fascinating aspect of process and our perceptions of complexity and patterns. Taylor even has pushed to use the method of fractal analysis as a means of validating Pollocks, but it has attacked by a few others as insufficient as a standalone tool for this purpose. The jury still seems to be out on that one.

I just think about that movie "My kid could paint that" whenever I think about Pollock. The only credit I can give him, is that he was the first one to popularize that style of painting. Other than that, I just don't see it as art. Well, aside from that open-ended "intresting to look at" definition of art.
