I'm 100% Serious Guilio...I might be a little drunk on the vino, but I'm absolpositutvely seriously. We drink it by the glass here...none of those wussy effeminate wine glasses.
In 1912, a good portion of my family was uprooted from the motherland and told to get out, you fat deigos. They gave the family tickets to where ever they wanted to go and we settled in the US. Over the next 90 years, as fat Italians were found, they were given the choice...get fit or get out. It really is a humane procedure...I mean it isn't like they shot us or anything...just told us to leave.
It really isn't something the gov't wants to talk about...my cousin Zampano is arriving in a couple weeks and he had been in hiding for a couple of years -- all the way up to 320 pounds. You can't hide a fat man that big for too long...sheep start to disappear. Hell, they caught him in the spaghetti fields near Venice having traveled all the way from Sicily...mostly by package truck at night because he can't fit into those tiny little Euro cars and has destroyed more Vespi (that is the plural isn't it?) than he could afford.
So yeah...Italy is only thin because you send us rejects away. I long for a return to my homeland, but until you and others do something about the gov't it isn't going to happen.

clifyt, I don't understand if you are serious or not.
Are you really telling me that US has high obesity percentage because only people with bad genes immigrated to America?
I hope seriously I misunderstood your words.

Guido, that is only because those of us with the bad genes immigrated to America.
You'll never see a skinny Italian here. Never. Just doesn't happen. Me? I have a BMI of 23...I'm the skinniest Italian I know.

That's really scary. I'm italian and our obesity percentage is 9.8%... around an half of your leanest state, and Italy hasn't the best value in Europe.
That's scary, really sad and scary.
It seems you are becoming like characters of a science fiction book: you have it all but you don't have enough brain to have a good life, and I'm not talking about food only.
