World's first expandable surge protector

Xdss

Good idea.

From the website:

    Socket Sense® Expandable Surge Protector

Expands so you can plug even a large power adapter into each of the 6 outlets

It may look like an ordinary power strip but this expandable surge protector adjusts from 13" to 18" long to allow enough space between each grounded outlet for those large transformers.

With standard power strips, if you had a bulky adapter it would cover up the adjoining outlet — the expandable surge protector slides open at any outlet to give enough room where needed.

Not only are there enough outlets available on the power strip for all your computer equipment or entertainment center components, but also each outlet is protected against power surges up to 2160 Joules.

Also features "Protected" and "Grounded" indicators, resettable circuit breaker and 6'-long grounded cord.

    Benefits and features:

    • Sockets on the expandable surge protector adjust to fit any size power adapters

    • Sockets are angled 45° to help prevent crowding

    • Keyholes on back for wall mounting

$29.99.

This is one of those posts that makes me wonder why I didn't think of something like that! Ok, I'm no engineer, but I have to unplug things all the time to get my hair dryer into the test strip (like daily!). Awesome idea!

Expandable? All of mine are expandable...ya plug another $5 protector into the end. I've got about 9 in a row right now...not sure why the electric line is hot to the touch or the wall near where I plug it in kinda glows all the way up to the ceiling light, but it works.
