Abbie Hoffman Lives
My crack research team just happened on this headline over at geeksugar: "Is File Sharing Illegal If Rights Owner Says It's Okay to Share?"
For a second there I thought I'd stepped through a wormhole and fallen back to the 70s.
Then I woke up.
joe — are you eyes closed?
Yeah, yeah....

Limited Edition Verner Panton Egg Cup
From the website:
- Verner Panton Egg Cups
Contemporary modern — and an immediate classic.
This is the only possible description of the combination of Verner Panton’s design and Menu’s award-winning egg cups, designed by Pernille Vea.
Verner Panton was always on the cutting edge of design, willing to test new ideas and styles and push new technologies.
His designs always seem to attract curiosity, optimism and joy.
The pattern on these Menu thermo egg cups is called Geometry 1 and is from the 1960s.
It represents Panton’s first and most famous textile design, for which he received The International Design Award in the United States in 1963.
Porcelain with lid to maintain heat.
Available in Coloured (1 apiece Red, Purple, Orange and Blue) or Black and White 4-pack.

'I like being aggressively stupid' — Sarah Silverman
I couldn't have said it better; totally sums up what I'm about.
She was quoted thus in Dave Itzkoff's story in yesterday's New York Times.
In context: "I like being aggressively stupid," she said. "I either say what I think, or the opposite of what I think. And hopefully the absolute power of both transcends."

Plug & Socket Halloween Costume
My editorial board took over two weeks to decide this item was inappropriate for bookofjoe.
Then last evening I fired them all and reversed their decision.
Why?
Because I could.
From websites:
- His & Her Plug & Socket Costume
An 'electrifying' Halloween get-up!
Everyone will get a charge out of this shocking display of togetherness.
She wears a pull-over shift-style sheath with pockets while he gets a pull-up plug with an elastic waistband and several feet of "cord."
Both costumes are cloth-covered foam.
Regular size fits most adults.
Plus Size: $44.89.
And where does it say "She" can't wear the plug and "He" the sheath?
Hmm?
Anyone?

Zero Dollar — by Laura Gilbert
Limited edition (10,000), each signed and numbered by the artist — free.
She had trouble giving them away on Wall Street yesterday (above and below).
David Segal's front page Style section story in today's Washington Post will give you the details, should you be interested.
If not, well, move on.
Note that beginning on October 24, 2008 you can get one of the artist's Zero Dollar prints — still free, the way we like it — at El Taller Latino Americano (Grady Alexis Gallery, 2710 Broadway @104th St., New York, NY 10025) until they're all gone.
You could look it up.
