Frederic Fekkai Limited Edition Spray On Hair Crystals

R4tt

Par-tay!

Michelle Thomas took them for a spin in today's Washington Post Sunday Source "Test Drive" feature and reported back as follows.

    Frederic Fekkai Glitter Hair Spray

I have a theory about the formula for creating a "holiday" beauty product:

Step 1: Choose any existing product.

    Step 2: Add glitter.

Frederic Fekkai's Spray On Hair Crystals does little to disprove my hypothesis. The grooming guru's limited-edition aerosol shine spray claims to deliver "instant glamour" by giving your hair a flexible, fine coat of shimmer in one of three hues (champagne, bronze or copper). In reality, it's a very light hair spray. With loads of colored glitter. Thus, your locks won't be the only thing shining: Those chunks of glitter will follow their manifest destiny to your hands, face, body, clothes, coat, shoes and apartment.

So, will you love it? Well, I didn't. But your results may be different. It probably depends on how much your holiday parties resemble raves. Or how close you are to your high school graduation.

$18.50.

I think Michelle Thomas forgot a couple of steps:

Step 3: ???

Step 4: Profit!

There, that's better.

Since I have the mind of a twelve-year-old, I can comment on this with some authority.
Skip the holiday hair product hype and go to the craft store, buy a little bottle of, um, I think it's called Glamour Dust, or actually, any of those extremely fine, dust-like colored glitters -- if you want something besides the iridescent look that Glamour Dust gives -- Wait, here you go:

http://www.decoart.com/cgi-bin/Products.cgi?Glamour_Dust

Then get some kind of real sticky plain old hairspray or hair shellac or something that takes a few seconds to dry, spray it on your hair, then QUICKLY sprinkle as much glamour dust as you want on your head, and boom, there you go. It'll stay on your hair real good, and yes, it will also get on your face, dress, hands, date, car, carpet, sheets, and however far you want to take it, but it's so pretty! (Be sure and shower real good before any upcoming doctor's appointments.)

Oh yeah -- don't forget to do your cats. You can skip the spray -- just sprinkle a little tad on the animal (it'll all fall off pretty quickly with no sticky to hold it on, so they won't die of glitter poisoning or anything). It looks especially fabulous on black felines, and -- bonus -- they'll help to distribute it all over your house for those oodles of smart dinner parties and witty soirees you'll be socially swirling in these next few weeks.

While you're glittering, listen to this:

With Natalie Dessay in a knockout performance, looking at times like a very young Barbra Streisand.

this product is like those sparkly creams that make your skin shimmer. I have never been partial to them myself but I can see a 15 year old loving the novelty of it.
