Soup + Crackers Mug

About time.

From the website:

    Soup/Cracker Mug

Convenient mug holds your favorite soup and snack at the same time.

Each glazed stoneware mug holds 1-1/2 cups of soup, coffee, tea or cocoa and features a nifty "sidecar" for saltines, cookies or crackers.

Perfect for snacking in front of the TV.

Two for $14.98 (yeah, sure — can of soup and box of saltines included. No spoon, though — you have to bring your own spoon).

I can't imagine anyone would by these for themselves, but the gift idea is not bad. I know I would be tickled by it. But would I use it? Probably not often.

Is it just me, or does anyone else get amazed by the lengths people go to to produce things nobody needs, but that somebody might see as a clever gag gift for a friend who has soup at their desk and gets cracker crumbs in the keyboard? I mean, I suppose somebody might buy it. Or they could visit my basement and choose from an array of things more useful than this, like 3 deviled-egg serving dishes, that I would like to get rid of, except that I'm too enervated by progress.
