MTV picks a winner: 'It's On With Alexa Chung'

Yuiogkl;kl;

It's been so long since I looked at MTV I had to Google the channel number (331 on DirecTV).

Long story short: Brian Stelter's June 11, 2009 New York Times article featured MTV's new half-Chinese British import daytime TV hope (above and below), taking over for the long-moribund and now defunct "TRL" as the channel's noon to 1 p.m. live daytime offering.

I watched yesterday's: pretty entertaining.

Note to MTV: lock her in because if you don't, someone else will.

You could look it up.

I only learned about this new Facebook feature in yesterday's USA Today story by Jon Swartz.

As usual, I was way behind the bleeding edge, with savvy users having done the deed at 12:01 a.m. this past Saturday: "Within 15 minutes, 500,000 users had grabbed a name, the company said."

To my surprise and delight, bookofjoe was still available yesterday so I nabbed it.

bookofjoe (Kindle Edition)

Bjjlh

Long story short: It's here.

Why read for free when you can pay?

Wait a minute, joe — this isn't the Bizarro World.

Doh.

Pros:

Downloads automatically even if you don't have WiFi or Internet access

It's the new new thing

Puts 2¢ a day in my pocket — (Amazon pays me 30% of the subscription price)

Cons:

Doesn't work with iPod touch/iPhone Kindle apps (neither do any Kindle blogs or newspapers, for that matter) — you need either of the two current Kindle readers

Appears in black and white as opposed to online color version

Links won't work since you're reading a download, not an active web page

Costs over 6¢ a day — money you could use elsewhere
