Practically speaking, I can't help but think that there must be something to her act if indeed the claim that she has been doing this for a decade, is true. It is obvious she believes her own shtick and I though I find her incomprehensible and confusing myself (based on just this clip), the question would be whether she would be able to (as a performer) engage me enough in her vision (whatever that might be) to the degree that I'd pay or make an effort to see her perform. She's getting some kind of involvement from her audience, that much is apparent from this video.

In any case, I like my stuff plain and simple. I don't go to the theater to have my little gray cells be taxed or to a performance where there is any physicality expected on my part beyond clapping and in-seat body swaying or dancing.

Bev got it right (and hilariously done by the way Bev) when she spoofed the whole thing in that marvelous comment of hers.

Jo: at this point I couldn't agree with you more.

I'm starting a performance art school in my house. Each performer lucky enough to secure a space pays me ten grand for the 3-week course, and you sleep on the living room floor when not performing. (Meals not included.) Performances shall include tearing up old kitchen floor & replacing with new spiffy one; cleaning out of basement and painting of cinder block walls; junk removal from attic and installation of rocking chairs, dart board and shelving; total house re-wiring; addition of large cat enclosure onto patio (plans and suggestions provided by cats); knocking out of closet wall and enlarging and remodeling of downstairs bathroom; re-landscaping of grounds; installation of above-ground pool with deck; and a really good haircut. All performances to be videoed and judged by President of the school (me). Marks awarded on basis of authentic portrayal of downtrodden worker in hopeless social structure ruled by insanely exacting slave driver (me). Good luck.
